Day 1:

Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chiquisca

Early departure from Cusco to Capuliyoc, the starting point of the trek. Enjoy spectacular views of the Apurímac Canyon before descending to Chiquisca, where the first campsite awaits.

Hiking time: 6–7 hours

Accommodation: campsite in Chiquisca

Day 2:

Chiquisca – Marampata – Choquequirao

Ascent to Marampata and continuation to the Choquequirao archaeological complex. Visit the main sectors and enjoy sunset over the Lost City.

Hiking time: 7–8 hours

Accommodation: campsite in Choquequirao

Día 3:

Choquequirao – Río Blanco – Maizal

Descend into the deep Blanco River valley and then climb ancient Inca paths to Maizal, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Hiking time: 8–9 hours

Accommodation: campsite in Maizal

Día 4:

Maizal – Yanama

Continue ascending to San Juan Pass, with panoramic views of the Choquetacarpo snow-capped peak, then descend to the village of Yanama.

Hiking time: 6–7 hours

Día 5:

Yanama – Totora – Lucmabamba

Traverse puna grasslands and cloud forest to reach Lucmabamba, where you will visit small coffee farms and Andean orchid gardens.

Hiking time: 7–8 hours

Accommodation: tourist lodge in Lucmabamba

Día 6:

Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aguas Calientes

Climb the original Inca trail to the Llactapata archaeological site, offering an incredible view of Machu Picchu from across the valley.

Then descend to the Hydroelectric Station and take the train to Aguas Calientes.

Hiking time: 6 hours

Accommodation: tourist hotel in Aguas Calientes

Día 7:

Machu Picchu – Cusco

Guided visit to the majestic Machu Picchu citadel, discovering its history and mysteries with our expert guide.

Return to Cusco by train and bus.

Día 8:

Cusco – Free Day and Farewell

Enjoy a free morning in Cusco to explore its streets, markets and colonial architecture before your scheduled transfer or departure.
